"Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Scalisi and I was recently named as on the Elks National Foundation's 500 Most Valuable Students. This is a great honor to me, as I have worked hard throughout my high school career. Coming from a low-income, single-parent family, I appreciate this scholarship not only for its recognition but for its ability to help me attend college without having to drown myself in loans. My appreciation runs deep, and the kindness of the Foundation, as well as the Elks, their families, and friends will not soon be forgotten. I graduate this Sunday, June 4 as valedictorian of my class. Next year, I will be attending Stonehill College in Easton, MA, with hopes of majoring in neuroscience. As the year came to a close, so did most of the activities I love. I stage-managed The Kind and I, my final Holy Cross Student Theatre production, helped with student government elections, and anchored my last show with Holy Cross Television. Now I spend most of my time working, relaxing, and preparing for college."
