Our Programs
Army of Hope:
In February, 2003, the Elks National Veterans Service Commission announced a program of mobilizing an “Army of Hope” to assist the families of Military Reservists and the National Guard who have been called to active duty during this time of crisis. The response from our members and non-Elks has been overwhelming. Our elected government officials at the local, state and national levels are greatly impressed, and have responded favorably to our initiative.
Michael F. Manning National Veterans Program - "Can-Coin Program":
Joint fundraiser between the Elks and Vietnam Veterans of America. Lodges place canisters in community establishments and collect funds from the general public, with proceeds going to the assistance of all veterans. We are asking each Lodge to find a few dedicated Elks to work this program, which will last only until July 31 of 2009.

Student/Veteran Volunteer Program:
This innovative new program allows us to fulfil our committment to America's youth while continuing to serve our nation's veterans.
Adopt-a-Veteran Program:
Like an army of hope, Elks everywhere
are living up to their pledge to hospitalized veterans.
Featured Veteran:
Two new profiles: Joseph Kowaleski and Tom Layow.
Veterans Leather Program: VA medical centers across the country
rely on the Elks for tooling leather used in occupational
and recreational therapy.
Veterans Remembrance: Remembering our veterans is a daily
proposition for the Elks. Nevertheless, each November we
redouble our efforts.
Re-Creation USA: This group of entertainers travels the
nation, performing at VA medical centers, and they
couldn't do it without the Elks.
Playing Cards for Veterans: The Elks now offer playing cards for hospitalized veterans.
Medals of Valor: Medals of Valor can now be presented to deserving families of those who have made the supreme sacrifice in the conflicts in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom).
